Title: Understanding the Parameter Value Monitor parameters
Post by: norfolkmastering on November 08, 2021, 06:11:27 PM
Hello Alexey

I want to try and understand the following parameters which can be selected for the action 'Parameter Value Monitor'.

1.
The drop down box to the left of 'priority'.  It contains the options:
Once
Ultra
Fast
Normal
Slow
DM Sync

I know that the setting 'Ultra' sends out the feedback without any delay within AZ.  Can you tell me whether the setting 'Fast' introduces any kind of time delay?

2.
The drop down box entitled 'Min. cycles between triggers'.
Selectable between 1 and 14.

Can you tell me which cycles and triggers this refers to please?

Many thanks

Robert

Monitoring happens with Cakewalk driven rate, by default every ~75 ms (can be changed in Cakewalk preferences).
"Ultra" means monitor every cycle, so every 75ms. Other options skip some cycles.

Some devices are slow and not able update feedback (especially display) so fast. For such cases there is "Min. cycles" option. So, it monitors with desired rate but once trigger (monitoring condition is changed) it ways specified number of cycles.

Note the "Priority" is unrelated to the rate, it instruct in which order monitors should be checked within one cycle (f.e. monitor which detects current strip type, track or bus, should have higher priority then monitoring current strip volume)

Thanks Alexey, that's a very clear explanation.
