I may have made a boo-boo purchasing this A49 komplete kontrol keyboard - it works as it should in Ableton BUT - I'm a sonar guy & would rather not learn a new DAW.
So when I attempt to do a learn midi...I get zero response from unit - all I wanted in a midi controller in the 1st place was control! over play stop record etc AND parameters in vst's that I didn't have to spend months trying to map
ANY assistance is most appreciated

NI keyboards was primary designed to control NKS plug-ins (or VST loaded throw NKS).
With special software they can control DAWs, but they are not working as other MIDI DAW controllers. You can switch the keyboard into MIDI mode and then use usual MIDI learning/Cakewalk ACT or Generic Controller to use knobs. For the rest a bit special integrations is required.

Can AZ Controller provide extended integration? Yes (except NKS instances switching, Cakewalk has no required API). But that is not an easy job. I do not have the keyboard and I guess you do not have time+knowledge to do this...
