ReaCWP / Re: convert .cwb to .cwp
« Last post by kdoucet on January 26, 2024, 12:17:44 PM »

I should have phrased my 1st question differently.

I have sonar projects with a CWB extension, which means they are bundles that contains their own audio files. Would you consider making reaCWP able to convert them, or is there another way?

As long as CbB is available, there should be no problem to convert into .cwp older projects and/or projects in other formats (like .cwb).

What new Sonar will bring I don't know. If they somehow keep the same project format, ReaCWP will continue to work.

ReaCWP / convert .cwb to .cwp

I have some old Sonar .cwb files and I need to convert them to .cwp to use in Reaper. Is this an option for an up coming version?

Thanks for your time.

If for some reason you don't want extra features of complete preset, it is easy to create "ACT Dynamic Mapping" preset from scratch.

Before each "Value Direct" insert "Range" Action with "To" 13050 (other parameters empty). But you can play with other parameters as well.

But there is no "fine tune" REAPER like options for modulation ;)

Hmmm...

I've tried to use Groups in Cakewalk with Custom values, making one of them reversed.
It works a little better, so when one fader is -0,0db the other is -INF.
The trouble remains, that I still can continue to move the first volume up to 6,0dB (while the other remains at -INF).

Is there a way in Cakewalk to hard limit the volume of a fader?

Hello.
I want to make a crossfader with my Behringer X Touch Mini, which has 1 fader.
In AZSlow, I've created 2 actions for the fader:
- For BUS 1 volume: Value Direct Linear
- For BUS 2 volume: Value Direct Linear Reverse

Now, while this somehow works, the problem is, that in the upper position of the fader, the BUS 2 volume is -INF, while BUS 1 volume is 6,0dB.
Is there a way to limit the maximum amount in the Value, so that the volume would stop on 0,0dB?
Keep in mind, that if you limit it on the hardware level, then the other BUS volume (which is reversed) would not get to -INF.

Hi Robert,

at the moment I also have micro-controller related project - I try to motorize my n00b telescope  :o
My friends have decided to make such a gift...

I know nothing about the sky, have hard time finding stars and planets (even with related app on my phone), in other words the only "thing" I know on the sky at night is the moon.
Also this n00b telescope extreme vibrating when I just touch it. And I have to touch it since even the moon "fly away" within minutes when looking throw the telescope. Pro mounts with "click the planet on computer" control cost more then this telescope, and I am not sure the result is worse the money (for me).

So ESP32 based CNC controller + drivers + motors + some mechanic to put all that together seems like reasonable (at the moment) way to improve observing experience. Fortunately corresponding software exists, with android app, web server and bridges to all common astronomy computer programs. But it has to be "customized" to work with my (unusual) setup. And with mechanical part I am on my own. Reading last days the mailing list. There was one project with washing machine engine and another with helicopter wings angle adjusting engine. Hobby astronomers are creative  ;D

Understood.
It's not an issue for me.  I just wanted to let you know.

By the way, I have pretty well completed my (hopefully) final update to the PIC software for my mixer.
I decide to work around the remaining Cakewalk API issues so I probably won't buy the next version of Sonar.

I wanted to thank you again for all the help you have given me with AZ Controller.  As I've said before, my mixer project would have been impossible without AZ and all its features.

If it's okay I'll keep in touch from time to time and let you know how Cakewalk/AZ/PIC is working during my recording and mixing sessions.

Best regards
Robert
