2. Put Faderport into native mode (as in the documentation).
3. Install attached preset using Cakewalk Plug-in Manager
4. In Sonar Preferences, Control Surfaces check that AZ Controller MIDI input and output are set correctly to Faderport.
5. Select the preset (AZ Faderport V2) in AZ Controller (when updating preset, do not forget to "re-select" it after installing).

From https://www.azslow.com/index.php/topic,565.0.html

Functionality (v0.5)
  • transport buttons as labeled (long press STOP for RTZ)
  • Shift -  in general is locked till another button is pressed (which use shift). So it is not required to press it simultaneously
  • Master - toggle between tracks and buses (lit when on buses). Controlled strip follows mouse operations as well. With Shift: show Track view
  • Solo/Mute - toggle solo/mute on controlled strip (with Shift in rude mode)
  • Arm - toggle record arm on controlled strip
  • Pan/Link - select parameter to be controlled by the fader:
    • Link - switch between strip itself and sends from this strip (lit when it sends mode). Prev/Next select the send to control in sends mode.
    • Pan - switch between volume and pan, for the strip or its send (depends on Link)
  • Prev/Next - navigate between strips or sends (depends from the Link state). With Shift: Undo/Redo
  • Read/Write - toggle read/write automation for the parameter currently controlled by the fader
  • Knob functionality depends from knob mode. It is controlled by Channel, Section and Scroll buttons, current mode is indicated by corresponding LED:
    • Channel - knob switch controlled channel (also in Link mode), pressing reset currently controlled by the fader parameter
    • Section - knob works like time jogger, turning while pressed jog by measures, otherwise by beats. With Shift: show PRV
    • Scroll - LED lit continuously. Knob scrolls, pressing switch direction
    • Zoom - activated by Shift + Scroll, LED blinks. Knob zoom, pressing switch direction
  • Marker - toggle FF/REW between normal and marker mode (lit when in marker). With Shift: show Matrix view
  • Click - toggle metronome. With Shift: show Console
