Basic PC EQ setup
« on: May 10, 2015, 01:46:45 AM »
I'm wondering if you can help me set up a basic template to tap into Sonar's PC module EQ.  I've been trying to do it myself but can't seem to make any progress.  Right now, I just want an 8 encoder (endless) setup that also sends feedback back to the encoder's light position indicator.  I know the EQ functionality could be somewhat buggy due to Sonar's current limitations but I just want to try it and see how it goes.  Below are my controller values:

S1 (Ch:1 CC:74) - LF Freq
S2 (Ch:1 CC:71) - LMF Freq
S3 (Ch:1 CC:10) - HMF Freq
S4 (Ch:1 CC:7)   - HF Freq
S5 (Ch:1 CC:73) - LF Gain
S6 (Ch:1 CC:72) - LMF Gain
S7 (Ch:1 CC:91) - HMF Gain
S8 (Ch:1 CC:93) - HF Gain

All values range 0-127.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

Example preset is in attachment.

Endless encoders can be different. In case you have wrong "direction", set "Reverse" in Value action. If not, you can try "Accelerated" for smoother operation (if hardware support that).

Some LED rings waiting just the value 0..127. Other need special interpretation.

That worked great!  Thanks so much!  I think you're right about the encoder interpretation.  I'm still trying to figure out what it wants.  I'll post back when I have more info.  For now, I'm just happy to have a working encoder set for the PC.
